Law enforcement officials report that two individuals were fatally shot and four others sustained injuries in a shooting incident in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The alleged perpetrator is deceased, according to police. Around 5 a.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to a neighborhood where they discovered multiple victims with gunshot wounds, as stated by the Jonesboro Police Department in a Facebook update.

One of the victims, identified as Amari Giles, has been pronounced deceased, while another injured individual has been identified as Daja Giles.

The shooting occurred during a private gathering at an abandoned structure in the city northeast of Little Rock, according to police spokesperson Sally Smith speaking to VOX3 NOW.

The authorities stated that the suspect was acquainted with the male and female victims who were killed, as well as another female victim who was injured.

Smith mentioned that the two female victims were siblings, characterizing the incident as a domestic shooting.

Three additional individuals sustained injuries, as stated by law enforcement. The ages of the victims have not been disclosed at this time.

The male assailant had a connection to one of the female victims, according to Smith. Police have not provided details regarding his cause of death.

Authorities are ongoing with their investigation, reassuring the public that there is no immediate threat to the community.

The Jonesboro Fire Marshals’ Division posted a notice at the site. Affixed to the door of the warehouse on Burke Avenue, the notice indicates that electrical utilities have been disconnected from the premises.

The city of Jonesboro does not authorize the use of the warehouse as a venue or event space, despite its use last night or early this morning. The notice takes immediate effect.
