At present, the cause of the accident remains uncertain.

The Mahoning County Coroner has officially confirmed one fatality at the Quaker City Motorsports Park in Salem, resulting from an incident involving a jet car on the track.

The tragic crash took place during the Night of Fire event at the race track.

According to reports, the vehicle was traveling at a speed of 286 miles per hour before the accident occurred. First responders on the scene described the dragster rolling over and catching fire.

At present, the cause of the accident remains uncertain.

However, video footage from the event indicates that the vehicle may have collided with the track’s side wall, resulting in an explosion.

As a consequence, the event experienced a delay while emergency personnel investigated the incident.

While numerous social media posts have identified the driver, the Mahoning County Coroner’s investigator has affirmed that the driver’s name will not be released until family members have been informed.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
