Juwan Crawford and Kalin Hawkins arrested after chase ends at North Park Mall in Davenport

On Thursday afternoon, there was a significant police presence at North Park Mall, and two individuals have been apprehended.

The police report that around 3 p.m., officers in Davenport spotted a stolen vehicle occupied by wanted suspects at the intersection of 65th Street and Welcome Way.

The vehicle had been reported as stolen from Joliet, Illinois. As soon as the police realized the vehicle was stolen, they initiated a pursuit.

At the entrance of JC Penny at North Park Mall, the pursuit concluded after the suspects attempted to flee from the police but were apprehended soon after.

The individual behind the wheel of the stolen vehicle was identified as Kalin Hawkins, a 27-year-old, who is now facing charges including felony eluding, first-degree theft, carrying weapons, second offense eluding, driving with a suspended license, and two counts of interference with official acts.

In addition, Hawkins had an outstanding Rock Island County warrant for failing to appear on charges of manufacturing and delivering cocaine. These details were included in a media release issued by the DPD.

Juwan Crawford, aged 23, was the other individual in the stolen vehicle and was also apprehended by the police. Crawford has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree theft, and interference with official acts.

Additionally, he had an outstanding Rock Island County warrant for aggravated fleeing and eluding.

According to the police, the investigation is still underway, and no additional information is currently available.
