VCU Medical Center North Hospital co-workers shooting: Christopher Boisseau in custody for the death of Ty’Quan White

Boisseau has been charged with maliciously shooting within a building, with further charges expected.

An investigation into a shooting that took place this morning at VCU Medical Center resulting in a fatality is being carried out by both the Richmond Police and VCU Police departments.

At around 12:04 a.m., emergency calls were received by both departments about gunfire and a current threat at the VCU Medical Center North Hospital, situated at 1300 East Marshall Street. VCU and Richmond police quickly responded to the location.

Police officers who responded to the incident at VCU Medical Center found that a co-worker altercation in a stairwell led to one individual shooting the other.

Sadly, the victim, identified as Ty’Quan White, 25, from Richmond, died from his injury despite receiving treatment.

The shooter, Christopher Boisseau, 24, from Henrico, was apprehended without further incident and a firearm was taken into police custody.

Boisseau has been charged with maliciously shooting within a building, with further charges expected.

As per protocol, VCU Police briefly placed the building on lockdown.
