According to two senior law enforcement officials who spoke to FOX3, the individual responsible for the fatal shooting that resulted in the deaths of at least eight individuals and injuries to six others at a shopping mall in the Dallas area on Saturday has been identified as 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia.

Police reported that the gunman was neutralized by an officer who was present at the Allen Premium Outlets, situated about 25 miles north of Dallas.

According to a senior law enforcement official, Garcia was equipped with a tactical vest and had both a rifle and a handgun.

Additionally, more weapons and ammunition were discovered in his vehicle.

This incident marks the second deadliest mass shooting in the United States this year, and the second to occur in Texas within a span of just over a week.

The residence listed for Garcia in Dallas has been searched by law enforcement officers and federal agents.

A neighbor reported seeing authorities in the neighborhood shortly after the shooting on Saturday, but stated that they have never had any problems with the occupants of the house.

As of now, there is no additional information about the suspect from official sources.
