Los Angeles County Sheriff’s personnel actively responding to an incident near N. La Brea Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard

It is uncertain whether anyone has been arrested, but the region is being cleared out.

On Friday morning, officials investigating an assault in West Hollywood used a helicopter to land on La Brea Avenue.

The incident was reported at around 8:15 a.m. in the 7100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, after authorities received a noise complaint.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.

A woman in her 50s was later taken to the hospital, but it is unclear how she sustained her injuries or the severity of her condition.

It is uncertain whether anyone has been arrested, but the region is being cleared out.

As per Sky5’s aerial footage, a helicopter from the Sheriff’s Department SWAT team descended on La Brea Avenue, disrupting the flow of traffic.

Mayor Sepi Shyne of West Hollywood disclosed on Twitter that the incident, suspected to be a shooting, “may have occurred at the Dylan or nearby,” an apartment complex in the vicinity.

According to the mayor, the alleged perpetrator has barricaded themselves within the apartment complex, and law enforcement officials have secured a perimeter around the structure.

As a result, individuals driving or residing in the region are urged to steer clear of the vicinity.
