The San Marcos High School lockdown has been ended as per the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials who have confirmed that the school is secure after a thorough search.

Parents are now permitted to visit the attendance office for any inquiries.

As of 10:57 a.m. on Monday, San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara initiated a lockdown after receiving a report of an active shooter on the premises.

However, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials have deemed the report to be unfounded.

Deputies promptly arrived at the school shortly before 10:30 a.m. and as a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown.

Sheriff’s officials have stated that a comprehensive search of the entire campus is underway.

In light of the ongoing investigation, the public is urged to steer clear of the area.
