28-year-old Shontasia Garrett arrested in deadly shooting of man in Orange

According to a press release from the Orange Police Department, a 28-year-old woman named Shontasia Garrett was taken into custody on a murder charge for her suspected involvement in the fatal shooting of a man in the early hours of April 1, 2023.

The shooting resulted in the man’s death.

According to a news release from the Orange Police Department, a 28-year-old woman named Shontasia Garrett has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a man early Saturday morning.

The man was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound after police received a call reporting shots fired in the area of 1800 West Church St at around 2:30 a.m.

He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont but later died.

The man’s identity is being withheld until his family has been notified.

Garrett was arrested during the investigation and is currently being held in Orange County Jail with no bond set, according to jail records.
