The man responsible for shooting a woman at a Schnucks parking lot in St. Peters has been identified by investigators, and he has been linked to other crimes in St. Louis County.

The authorities were able to piece together the connection between the crimes thanks to cooperation and the use of surveillance footage and fingerprints.

Tyrone Miller from O’Fallon, Illinois, is alleged to have left his fingerprints on the front passenger window of a vehicle last Friday when he attempted to steal a woman’s purse but instead shot her in the ear, with the bullet exiting through her jaw.

The victim’s husband recalled seeing the shooter’s vehicle parked just a few spots away in the same row. Miller’s involvement in crimes throughout the St. Louis metro area was uncovered through the collaborative efforts of law enforcement.

According to court records in St. Charles County, license plate readers played a crucial role in identifying the vehicle involved in the crime as an Avis rental car from St. Peters.

However, the vehicle was later discovered abandoned and without any evidence in East St. Louis, Illinois. The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charging documents suggest that there were several similar purse snatching and robbery incidents in multiple areas, including one in Shrewsbury where Miller was identified walking inside the Dierberg’s store just a few hours before the attempted robbery outside the St. Peters Schnucks.

Additionally, FOX3 discovered a theft near Walmart in Chesterfield on March 2, which may also be linked to the suspect. The police records indicate that Miller has an extensive criminal record that includes kidnapping.
