Daniel Chicas and Joselyn Paz found dead in home in Garland County shooting

A spokesperson said both had been taken to the state crime lab for an autopsy.



On Thursday morning, law enforcement officials discovered two deceased individuals at a residence in Garland County, following a shooting incident.

According to the Garland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home located in the 200 block of Buxton Loop at 11:13 a.m. Upon their arrival, a man and woman were found unresponsive, and both had sustained gunshot wounds.

Additional information and names regarding two deaths that occurred on Thursday in Garland County have been disclosed by the Sheriff’s Office.

According to a statement released on Friday by a spokesperson, deputies received a call from Chicas’ daughter and rushed to a residence on Buxton Loop at around 11 a.m., where they discovered Daniel Chicas (55 years old) and Joselyn Paz (35 years old) with gunshot wounds, both unresponsive.

The woman informed the authorities that she received a call from her father, who was crying and informed her that he had shot Paz.

She then went to the home and discovered Chicas and Paz inside and unresponsive.

Upon arrival, the county coroner pronounced the pair dead, and both were transferred to the state crime lab for an autopsy, as per the spokesperson.

Pending the results of the crime lab, the investigation remains ongoing, according to a spokesperson from the Garland County Sheriff’s Office.
