Arrests made for shoplifting have caused a scare of an active shooter at Dadeland Mall

Authorities have reported that three individuals suspected of shoplifting were arrested at Dadeland Mall on Saturday evening, during a period of panic over an active shooter at the shopping center.

According to Miami-Dade police, there were no injuries or gunshots involved in the incident.

The situation prompted a significant law enforcement presence at the mall, situated at 7535 N Kendall Drive, as officers rushed to the scene.

Eye-witnesses reported that parts of the mall were placed on lockdown, with some individuals crying during the chaos.

Although officials have not disclosed the identities of the shoplifting suspects or the location of the alleged thefts, the incident remains under investigation.
