Their bodies were found Sunday in a complex in the area of 6 Mile and Farmington.

On Sunday, two Detroit police officers were reported dead, as confirmed by Livonia police and Detroit Police Chief James White.

Livonia police had been summoned to the Belle Creek Square townhomes in Livonia to perform a welfare check.

Upon reaching the location, they discovered the lifeless bodies of a man and a woman. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Inside the residence, police found an unharmed infant who was handed over to a family member.

Chief White disclosed that both the man and woman were serving as Detroit police officers.

“On February 19, 2023, at approximately 1230 p.m., Livonia Police officers responded to a Farmington Road residence to check the well-being of the residents at the request of a family member. When officers entered the home, they found the two residents, a 22-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds,” the Livonia Police Department said in a press release.

The Livonia police also reported that they discovered an infant inside the residence and subsequently handed the child over to a family member.
