Kyle Jacobs, country music songwriter and husband of singer-performer Kellie Pickler, has died

Jacobs was 49.



At 1:21 p.m. today, emergency services received a 911 call from a residence on Sneed Road.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered Jacobs dead in an upstairs bedroom/office from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His death is currently being investigated as a possible suicide.

Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she had recently awoken and began searching for her husband, who she could not locate.

After attempting unsuccessfully to access the upstairs bedroom/office, Kellie’s personal assistant called 911.

Jacobs achieved success as a songwriter, collaborating with renowned artists such as Garth Brooks, Kimberley Locke, Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Craig Morgan, and Tim McGraw.

He also appeared alongside his wife, Kellie Pickler, on the CMT reality show I Love Kellie Pickler.

Jacobs was 49.
