It has been reported that the legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, who began his career in the 1960s, has passed away.

In an announcement Wednesday, his family said, “On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss”.

The news of Beck’s passing has obviously caught many people off guard, especially in light of the fact that he had only recently completed a tour with his old buddy Johnny Depp.

After Johnny Depp’s trial with Amber Heard, Beck and Johnny Depp went on tour together, performing in front of crowds that not only came to see the artists perform, but also to show their support for Depp. Beck and Johnny Depp’s gigs drew in huge numbers of people from all over the world.

In the year 2020, Johnny and Beck issued a cover version of “Isolation” by John Lennon.

Beck was born in England, and he first rose to prominence while playing with the Yardbirds. Later, he became the vocalist for both the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. The Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance has been bestowed upon him seven times, while the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance has been bestowed upon him once. In addition to that, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame not once, but twice.
