Joshua Ryan Herrin was taken into custody after a nearly 3-hour-long manhunt in the Benchley area in Robertson County.

The individual who is accused of shooting a police officer in Bryan on Thursday night and a Brazos County deputy in the Benchley region of Robertson County on Friday afternoon has been apprehended by the authorities.

Joshua Ryan Herrin, age 44, was discovered in a location to the west of the Aggie Bonfire site; however, the specifics of how he was apprehended were not immediately available.

According to several law enforcement sources, a Brazos County officer who had observed Herrin in a 2004 Mustang shortly before noon was injured by gunshots in the same area where the search is now ongoing. The deputy made it through, and their health is currently considered to be stable.

As of right now, Spur 231 is closed at Old Hearne Road and Mumford-Benchley Road as a result of the ongoing search for Herrin that is being conducted by several law enforcement organizations.
