Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call for service regarding a domestic incident involving gunfire off of North Columbus Street in Beverly Hills, Fl. At this time officials are on scene and there is no threat to public safety. Please avoid North Columbus Street from Beverly Hills Blvd. to West Star Jasmine if possible as the investigation is ongoing.

Brittney Carman, a spokeswoman for the CCSO, stated that the 44-year-old man had been shot in the head. The woman, who was 20 years old, was transported to the Citrus County Emergency Operations Center in order to be questioned and for forensic evidence to be collected.

Officials have stated that emergency personnel were called to the location at 7 North Columbus Street at approximately 2:45 p.m. in response to a shooting that had taken place there. The victim had already passed away when they arrived at the scene.

The section of Beverly Hills Boulevard that lies between DeSoto and Osceola streets was closed off as a result of the incident, according to CCFR spokesperson Cortney Marsh.

Near the residence, a large group of deputies could be seen congregating behind yellow police crime tape.

CCSO Captain Brian Spiddle, who was one of the investigators at the scene, stated that the incident was a domestic shooting. However, the next of kin had not yet been notified, therefore the names of the victims have not yet been made public.

One of the neighbors who was living just across the street from the location where the shooting took place mentioned that there were a lot of individuals who resided there. “I don’t know the majority of them, but you could always hear them yelling at each other and fighting out here,” she said.

The documents kept by the Citrus County Proper Appraiser indicate that the residence in question is held by Partnership Group LLC, which has its headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada.
